Attached are a few photos from yesterday's mass wedding!
Today was an amazing day! Pastor Tim, Blake and Pastor Tod went out to a village church while the rest of us went back to Light the World Church! The worship was incredible and lasted for nearly 2 hours! Pastor Wilfred
gave me the title of best dancing "mzunga" (of course you aren't here
Cynthia) and said our team in general were the most involved American
dancers they have had here...who ever said Mennonites can't dance!? We
even got to serve communion...headed by Nick, Jim and Jeff! We are
hoping the red kool-aid we drink from communion cups was not made from
the local water! Hmmm...
After nearly 4 hours of church (which included 20 new converts) we went
on the equivalent of an Indiana Jones ride out to Pastor Wilfred's
house? How do women in third world cultures have twenty people over
for a full meal with no running water or indoor cooking? :)
After a delightful visit we went to the orphanage affiliated with the
church and spent a couple of wonderful hours playing with about 50
kids! I am trying to talk Ryan and Sarah Jane into a little
line-backer named Ronnie. He was abandoned about 4 months ago and is
about 18 months old! I promised free babysitting but will have to
wrestle Kaitlin for him! Ryan and SJ made no commitments....darn!
Most of the kids are there because their parents have died or are dying
of AIDS. The kids however do not have the disease...PTL!
I could go on and on but needless to say we fell in love with the kids!
I don't think Jeff or Blake will be able to walk tomorrow after
all the activity. Gotta dash to debrief and Ryans birthday party!
